Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) is a federal government program administered by 10 federal agencies to provide early-stage research and development funding to small technology companies (or individual entrepreneurs who form a company).
Solicitations for research and development within specific topics are released periodically by each of the agencies. Companies are invited to compete for funding by submitting proposals answering the technical topic needs of the agency's solicitation. Visit SBIR's website.
PIPELINE is a regional fellowship program designed to equip entrepreneurs with the training, networks, resources and know-how to assist them in launching successful high-growth enterprises. The Kansas Center for Entrepreneurship (dba NetWork Kansas) works to establish entrepreneurship and small business as a priority for economic and community development in Kansas. The center strives to promote an entrepreneurial culture throughout the state by connecting entrepreneurs and small businesses to the expertise, education and economic resources they need. The center also administers the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI), which provides state-level, small business lending services through the Kansas Capital Multiplier Loan Fund and the Kansas Capital Multiplier Venture Fund.
