Attractions and Recreation

Kingman county has several outdoor recreation areas to enjoy. Kingman State Fishing Lake and  Byron Walker Wildlife Area encompasses more than 44,000 acres, and offers a wide variety of hunting and fishing, as well as areas for campers, hikers and bird watchers. A permit is required for hunting, which is available for free at one of the permit/information centers located around the area.

Cheney State Park and Cheney Reservoir  offers a variety of recreational opportunities. The 1,913-acre  park sits along the south end of the reservoir. The park includes 185 electric hookup sites and numerous other primitive camping sites and four designated swimming areas. A number of trails and wildlife areas are available for hiking and nature watching. Kingman Country Club is a public, nine-hole golf course with a newly remodeled restaurant.
