Informational meetings about benefits available for laid-off Learjet workers will be held next week

The Workforce Centers of South Central Kansas will host informational meetings next week for workers impacted by the recent layoffs at Learjet. The meetings will be held at the Wichita Workforce Center and will cover benefits and services available to laid-off workers, including Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) benefits.

All meetings will be held in the Wichita Workforce Center 2021 N. Amidon, Suite 1100, Wichita, KS 67203.

Five informational meetings for laid-off Learjet workers will be held at the following times:
• Monday, Aug. 4, at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
• Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Benefits available for eligible workers may include job search and relocation assistance, as well as paid education or retraining opportunities. Workers over the age of 50 may qualify for wage subsidies and eligible workers may be able to apply for additional income support. Application deadlines apply to receive TAA benefits.

Workers unable to attend a meeting should visit a Workforce Center at their earliest possible convenience, and bring a driver’s license, social security card and layoff letter to enroll in programs. To find Workforce Center locations, please visit
