Secretaries make friendly wager on 3A girls state basketball championship

Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George and Kansas Transportation Secretary Mike King have made a friendly wager on the outcome of the Girls Class 3A state basketball championship game between Cimarron and Hesston. King, who is from Hesston, has picked Hesston High School to claim the state championship, while George is banking on his hometown Cimarron High School team taking the victory. The loser of the friendly competition will owe the winner a steak dinner.

Cimarron and Hesston will meet in the Kansas State High School Activities Association 3A championship game at Hutchinson Community College on Saturday, March 14, at 4 p.m. Both teams are undefeated with records of 25-0.
