Cinco de Mayo will give Hispanic entrepreneurs and business owners the opportunity to learn how to run their businesses more efficiently, master the art of networking, and better handle the challenges of running a family business. A Hispanic Entrepreneur’s Day Forum will be held May 5 at the National Center for Aviation Training in Wichita. The forum will feature two keynote speakers, as well as seven workshops designed to address common obstacles facing Hispanic small businesses and the ways to overcome them.

WHAT: The Hispanic Entrepreneur’s Day Forum will open with remarks from Adrienne Foster, executive director of the Kansas Hispanic & Latino American Affairs Commission, and a keynote address from motivational speaker Jimmy Cabrera.

After the opening addresses, a series of workshops will be offered on the following topics:
• Small Business Administration resources.
• Gaining access to capital.
• Mastering the bureaucracy of zoning and permits.
• Creating the perfect 30-second “elevator speech” to help business owners network effectively.
• Overcoming the unique challenges of running a family business.
• Using QuickBooks to help streamline business operations.

Each workshop will be offered multiple times, and participants will have the opportunity to attend up to three of these sessions.
