Berkley Medical Management announces move to Kansas

Berkley Medical Management Solutions, a unit of W.R. Berkley Insurance group that specializes in workers’ compensation managed-care solutions, announced it will relocate operations to Corporate Woods Building 82. The company is expected to create more than 25 full-time jobs.

“All of us at Berkley Medical Management Solutions are delighted to be opening a base of operations in Overland Park,” said Patricia Onion, CEO of Berkley Medical Management Solutions. “After a nationwide search, the Kansas City area made the most sense. We were seeking a strong work force in both the medical and technology arenas for developing medical software. We also wanted a central location with easy nationwide access for serving other W.R. Berkley Insurance Group members. And, of course, we were looking for a competitive backdrop in terms of wages, cost of living and cost of facilities. Overland Park and the Kansas City area best fit our need and we are proud to be joining the community.”

Berkley Medical Management Solutions uses data analytic tools to streamline and process medical data. The company collaborates with big data statisticians and experts in the medical field to help patients recover quickly and to ensure that their services are efficient.

“It’s exciting that Berkley Medical Management Solutions has decided Kansas is the best place to open its new operations,” Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George said. “By investing and creating jobs in Overland Park, the company will help enhance our state’s strong business environment.”

“Berkley Medical Management Solutions is an outstanding addition to a growing sector of our economy,” said Overland Park Mayor Carl Gerlach. “The company’s decision to locate in Overland Park is a reflection of its commitment to growth and innovation in medical technology.”
