KANSASWORKS to hold third statewide virtual career fair

KANSASWORKS will host its third statewide virtual career fair on Oct. 30 in conjunction with Convergys Corp., a global leader in relationship management. The company wants to hire up to 500 home agents for its operations before the end of the year.

“Convergys remains active in hiring substantial numbers of home-based agents for a growing client list,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “Since it began hiring, the company has employed well in excess of 1,800 home-based agents from Kansas and continues to seek qualified workers from our state.”

WHAT: Home agent career fair for Convergys Corp., sponsored by KANSASWORKS. The company is specifically hiring for customer support representatives, sales and service representatives and technical customer support representatives.

WHEN/WHERE: Two sessions will be offered, 9 a.m. and noon, unless noted below. Job seekers can visit one of the following KANSASWORKS Workforce Centers:

Dodge City, 9 a.m. and noon
Emporia, 9 a.m. and noon
Independence, 9 a.m. and noon
Garden City, 9 a.m. and noon
Great Bend, 9 a.m. and noon
Hays, 9 a.m. and noon
Hutchinson, 9 a.m. and noon
Johnson County, 9 a.m. and noon
Junction City, 9 a.m. and noon
Lawrence, noon early
Leavenworth, 9 a.m. and noon
Pittsburg, 9 a.m. and noon
Salina, 9 a.m. and noon
Topeka, noon only
Wichita, 9 a.m. and noon
Wellington, 9 a.m. and noon

CONVERGYS HOME AGENT INFORMATION: Home agent positions include salary, health benefits, flexible scheduling and paid training. Home agents will provide customer service support for various Convergys clients. The pay is $9 per hour plus incentives, and employees working more than 20 hours per week are eligible for benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, as well as tuition reimbursement.

Agents must meet certain home office standards to be considered, including a quiet place to work inside their home, a personal computer that meets Convergys’ minimum standards, high-speed Internet access and a noise-canceling headset. A complete list of technical requirements can be found at
