State Commerce and Labor officials will tour state to promote building a qualified workforce

State officials from the Kansas Department of Commerce, the Department of Labor, and the Kansas Board of Regents will visit six communities across Kansas to promote the state’s effort to build a certified, highly qualified workforce for business and industry in the state.

“The Brownback Administration has launched an initiative to help ensure that Kansas businesses have a skilled, highly qualified workforce,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “This is an effort supported by industry leaders, workforce stakeholders and postsecondary education institutions across the state.”

State officials, industry representatives and community leaders will come together in each city to promote the use of industry endorsed credentials especially in high demand occupations.
