Ascension Insurance relocates headquarters to Overland Park

The Kansas Department of Commerce announced today that Ascension Insurance Inc. will relocate its headquarters to Overland Park. A specialized insurance brokerage firm, Ascension plans to create 20 new jobs in Kansas during the next five years. The company also anticipates a capital investment of approximately $3.4 million at its new headquarters.

“We are excited to be moving our corporate office to Kansas,” said Ascension CEO Joe Tatum. “It will allow us to combine the corporate office with our Summit America office already located in Overland Park and enjoy the synergies gained by combining the two sites.”

Ascension Insurance offers property and casualty, employee benefits and risk management services to privately-owned and small and mid-cap publicly traded businesses. The company’s clients also include non-profit organizations, municipalities and individuals. Ascension’s new headquarters will be located at 32 Corporate Woods, Suite 700, 9225 Indian Creek Parkway in Overland Park.

“Ascension Insurance will create great jobs and invest in the state,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “I’m excited that the company selected Kansas as the best location for its corporate headquarters.”

“From agribusiness to transportation, Ascension Insurance Inc. is one of the fastest-growing insurance brokers in the nation, and we are pleased that they will call Overland Park home,” said Mayor Carl Gerlach. “Overland Park is consistently ranked as one of the best cities in the nation to raise a family as well as grow a business.”
