Selas Heat Technology Company LLC announced that it has completed the purchase of Webster Engineering and Manufacturing Co. LLC based in Winfield. As a result of the acquisition, Webster will retain its nearly 60 positions at 619 Industrial Boulevard.
“Selas continues to expand its technology portfolio, thereby further enhancing our World of Combustion Solutions available now to a broader customer base,” said David S. Bovenizer, CEO of Selas and founder of Lionheart Ventures. “Complementing Selas’ deep heritage in process heating markets – furnaces, ovens and open-firing systems – Webster’s penetration in the boiler burner market segment positions Selas closer to achieving it its strategic goal as a leading edge single source for all combustion technologies.”
“Webster is a strong, valued company with competitive jobs that are important to our communities,” Cowley County Economic Development Partnership Director Kerri Falletti said. “We welcome Selas to Cowley County and look forward to continue working with them through the transition and in the future as the new business owner.”
Webster is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of custom and semi-custom multi-fuel boiler burners for the commercial, institutional and industrial markets. The company’s burners provide the heat source for the transformation of water to potable hot water, hot water for heating, and steam for heating and process applications.
Webster’s most recent innovation senses combustion air temperature and automatically controls the fan speed to create a constant air flow mass for combustion.
“It’s great news that Selas has decided to invest in our state,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “Innovative manufacturers such as Webster create good jobs for Kansas workers and spur economic growth.”
“The Winfield City Commission has approved a letter of intent to issue Industrial Revenue Bonds on behalf of Webster to assist the company in purchasing the facility and in maintaining a world-class manufacturing facility in Winfield,” Winfield City Manager Warren Porter said. “We will continue to work with the owners and management team in creating a successful manufacturing environment in Winfield for Selas Heat Technology.”
