Business Finance

The Business Finance unit oversees a variety of incentive and service programs for the Business Development Division. Our staff works closely with the Business Development Retention & Expansion and Recruitment project managers to help you understand program requirements and provide the necessary forms and detailed technical assistance to participate in Kansas business incentives. Programs include job creation tax credits, investment tax credits, sales tax project exemptions and revolving loan funds for local infrastructure projects, as well as "forgivable" and interest-bearing loans for new and existing businesses.

Business Finance staff also provides cost-benefit analysis and liaison to the Kansas Board of Tax Appeals for local property tax abatement applications, Enterprise Zone designation as a non-metropolitan business region for counties, Private Activity Bond allocations and assistance to local economic developers utilizing the Business Retention & Expansion E-Survey tool.
