For those that enjoy the outdoors, Wilson county has many offerings. Wilson State Fishing Lake offers both fishing as well as wildlife watching. For the avid hunter, Whitetail Adventures and Paradise Adventures offer guided hunts for deer, turkey and other animals. If your interest is golf, the Fredonia Golf Course has nine-holes of golf on a public course.

For the history buff, Wilson county has the Wilson County Museum, Norman #1 Museum and  Fort Row. Located in Fredonia, the Wilson County Museum has early pioneer artifacts, Indian artifacts and mastodon bones. To find out more about the oil history of Southeast Kansas, visit the Norman #1 Museum. This museum pays homage to the first oil well in the Mid-Continent Oil Field. Fort Row is a historic landmark that marks the area of one of the largest Indian tragedies of the Civil War.
